‼ BEST PORK CHOPS EVER!! I just had to jump on here and give a shout out to KIMBERLY for serving us up with some incredible food and kind, thoughtful service!! She was attentive to us from seating us until wishing us a good evening! The food is superior! The price affordable! Location perfect! Cambridge Square already had our patronage but now a new favorite place! Guys, the beef roast was so tender as was the pork chops and chicken. We didn’t need a knife lol! Anyway, give a taste y’all … I think you will be going back for more ‼

I stopped by, for lunch, to our latest entry to the Cambridge Square dining scene, Marthie Ann’s. Atmosphere upon entering is bright and friendly with lots of sunlight spilling in through windows; blues and oldies playing on the sound system. Service was good and professional. I asked a few ingredient questions to test proficiency and the server was on point for the most part. On to the food! This is branded as a “meat and two”; basically supercharged soul food. There are quite a few plays on hot chicken with the addition of Alabama white sauce as an option. I ordered the chicken plate with two sides. I passed on the hot recipe and went with regular batter fried chicken. The batter was crispy, the chicken tender and juicy with white sauce drizzled over the top. Loaded potato salad and Cole slaw rounded out the plate. The Cole slaw was creamy, made with Dukes mayo of course with a hint of vinegar. Delicious!! The potato salad was loaded and terrific as well. I went for the peach pie which came out presented in a cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream. The crust was flaky and waxy, appropriately buttery. Also delicious! The only down side, lunch was $35 with tip. Peach pie was ten dollars… that’s stretching the budget for anyone. All of the items are at the high end on the price, I’m not saying they’re not worth it, it’s just that they may be more of an infrequent visit, maybe special occasion. Hope not everyone feels that way as we need restaurants like this in town. Update: they decided to close down and revamp with lower ticket prices. I told them that 9 months ago. The restaurant business is a gig you get into because you love food and serving people. It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. Make a profit, but don’t try and squeeze your customers of every penny like it’s Disney World.

Good food is simple, elegant and nourishing. Marthie Ann's understands this. Close your eyes and choose any menu item, you will be delighted with the nuance and home feel of the food. The steak being locally sourced is juicy and rich with flavor. My family and I have steadily worked our way thru the menu. Staying for desert is a must..try it. 5 stars.

Good gosh. Can you give a 10 star rating!?! This place was amazing. Seriously the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in the south 40 years. The seasoned veggies I got were perfectly cooked and the Mac and cheese was so creamy. The waitress was so sweet and incredibly attentive. She made sure to have cups filled at all times, gave great recommendations, and even laughed at my brother’s dad jokes.

Marthie Ann in Cambridge Square is hands down some of the best Southern cooking in town! This is our third time visiting in just a month—it's that good! The service has been consistently excellent every time, even with different servers. On our first visit, we were in from NC, and our server was kind enough to offer us their bread basket on the house—such a sweet gesture, and wow, was it delicious! So far, I've tried the Fried American Catfish, Alabama White Plate, and Chicken & Dressing, and I honestly can't pick a favorite. Every dish has been unique, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. Even the sides are amazing—today, I had the roasted veggies and mac & cheese, and, like everything else, they did not disappoint. I just want to try everything on their menu! The portions are so generous that I haven’t had room for dessert yet, but I can’t wait to give them a try next time. My husband and I always say—this is the best Southern cooking around, and we’re excited to keep coming back! Highly recommend Marthie Ann to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful, and satisfying Southern food!

Marthie Ann’s is a welcomed addition to Cambridge Squares impressive list of restaurants! My family had the pleasure of visiting this location prior to it officially opening. The atmosphere is simple and sophisticated. The service is excellent! We were greeted enthusiastically. Our server was very informative and knowledgeable about all the food on the menu. The best part…the food! We ordered Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and Hot Honey chicken with several sides. The flavor of everything we tasted was truly impressive. Nashville Hot was very tasty while bringing the heat and the Hot Honey was delicious with a subtle hint of spice. I hope this place gets all the love it deserves.
